On the road with Women's Clinic
Shoe Frenzy was created out of the love of shoes and the need to provide quality low-cost health care and counseling services for women. It seemed like a perfect fit and it certainly has been. Featuring new brand name designer shoes at discounted prices has brought together women from all over Southern California and all walks of life in a line around the block ready to have a Shoe Frenzy.
The first Shoe Frenzy took place in 1996 and the event featured a few hundred pairs of shoes and about 10 people waiting to come in when the doors opened, several volunteers had to drive to a local shopping center to pass out flyers and beg people to attend. Times have certainly changed!

Moving boxes is dirty work!
Each year the quantity and quality of shoes we receive increases, as does the line waiting to come in. In 1998 the event featured over a thousand pairs of shoes, by 2000 the event featured over two thousand pairs of shoes, and the 2002 Shoe Frenzy featured three thousand pairs of shoes! Each year we are able to find more companies that will donate to the event.
The event is completely organized by Women's Clinic and Family Counseling Center's staff and volunteers. All shoes are donated and they are all discounted 50-70% off their retail prices.

The man who brings us the majority of shoe donations. Our hero, the UPS man!

Calling for shoe donations
We accept any style of ladies shoes and encourage our donors to provide a variety of sizes. The event is held only once a year, usually in June, since it does take quite a bit of time to secure the donations and organize the event.
Many people ask us how we can sell such high quality shoes at such unbelievably low prices. The answer is simple - that is what we do. At Women's Clinic and Family Counseling Center we provide high quality reproductive health care and counseling services at a low-cost. Certainly our signature fund raising event should reflect our mission. We believe in caring for you "head to shoe!"

Pricing shoes!
One thing that truly makes Shoe Frenzy a unique event is that most of the funds raised do support the low-cost/free programs at Women's Clinic, we keep fund raising expenses extremely low. We also hope that women don't just leave the event with armfuls of shoes, but that they leave with vital women's health information as well as knowing that their purchases will directly benefit women in the community. That is why the motto of the event is "Heels that Heal". Shoe Frenzy is a guilt free shopping spree since each pair of shoes purchased can help to provide a vital service to a woman in need. This event is more than about our love of shoes, it is about our love of women.
